A lounge chair made based on a principle using sheet material without any waste.
Also as an idea about easier manufacturing using only a few cuts and making a flat surface as ergonomic shape considering material properties and options. The chair is made of 3 mm thick polyethylene sheet with three cuts in it and stainless steel ribbon. The parts with cuts are being folded with overhang and everything is connected with rivets.
Process
The idea about making an ergonomic shape using only a few cuts arose as a result of cutting and playing with paper and realizing the paper structure as a material. Then there was a search for more durable material, but with the same specifics. Polyethylene was chosen as the closest one because it’s thick, both flexible and also durable. But the metal part is made as a continuation of the idea about easier manufacturing and usage of material, this time using welding as little as possible.
